Yehuda sat down with Dan Savage to talk all things Intimacy Coordination and even got to give some listener advice.

Yehuda joined Audie Cornish to unpack the work of Intimacy Coordinators, address recent backlash, and explore how the craft holds artistic integrity and safety in the same frame.

 "…There's a sense of real comfort, low self-consciousness and openness and relaxation that just felt like it permeated the set with everybody. There was a sense of safety. We had the most incredible intimacy coordinator in the world."

Hoffman said he “couldn’t have felt more comfortable” filming sex scenes with Wilde and Araki, as well as intimacy coordinator Yehuda Duenyas, noting “everyone was kind of putting their guard down a little bit” and “just fucking going for it.”

Gregg Araki noted, “I Want Your Sex” was the first movie he shot with an intimacy coordinator. The crew worked with Yehuda Duenyas, who previously served as intimacy coordinator on projects such as HBO’s “Westworld” and…

"I wouldn't be able to do anything that I did without him being there. And without having Greg and Olivia obviously be as cool as they were too.”

Araki brought the intimacy coordinator Yehuda Duenyas on, a first for one of his films and a sign of changing times in the industry. Fortunately, he’d met Duenyas while doing episodic work on American Gigolo and knew they could work well together. “I literally searched [Duenyas] out.."

The second annual fest celebrates intimacy in film and comes from the founders of intimacy coordinator training org CINTIMA

Debuting Oct. 16 at the historic Culver Theater, Flicker Festival is the first-ever short-film fest run entirely by intimacy coordinators — those behind-the-scenes on-set sex chaperones who make sure every touch, thrust and body part lands exactly where they’re supposed to.

"…emotional truths still have to hold. And whenever intimacy and violence intersect, that's when a little extra care is required, and not because actors are fragile, and not because we should avoid difficult stories, but because embodying those scenarios has a real impact on our nervous systems. The body doesn't know it's fiction. The mind might, but the body does not."

"We’re creative collaborators, so if an actor does revoke consent for a particular act or a particular angle or they don’t want to show a body part, we are trained to be able to tell these stories and to work within those parameters."
